What a pleasure it was meeting 14 bride and grooms this week!We seem to be meeting with more and more couples requiring professional top quality services more than ever before. It is nice to meet couples and make them feel at ease from the start of our meeting, as we always tell them before the meeting that we never ever accept deposits or present them with a contract at a meeting and this seems to make them comfortable in the fact that they are meeting us to discuss their day, and not there to hear some sales pitch, or how quint essential it is to book a disc jockey for their special day because the disc jockey they are meeting has some huge ego about himself being the 'best' there is in the Syracuse area. So many times we have met with couples and referred them to other DJ Services in the Syracuse and surrounding area's and always make a valid point to everyone we meet that there are many good services out there, but finding the right one is the trick - so many people select a DJ based on price and think that a DJ who charges less - is cheaper than another DJ is a good deal - this is not the case as study's have shown that the MORE you pay for entertainment the better result you get. Its not about how much lighting a DJ has ( we do not charge extra for anything), or how many superstars, Mayor's, Presidents or dignitaries he has met or been photographed with - that means nothing - many DJ's fail to see that a bride and groom are meeting with them to hear what is offered and the quality of what is being offered but more so these days couples are looking for difference and control.
We pride ourselves in our music database which is in the region of 250,000 songs - yes really -
a quarter of a million - and that is available for all our couples to select their music from:
We do not prance about with silly hats on or do we ask you to do our job for us - we know of some services that want you to do the introductions of the bridal party - pre recorded of course - but this in our option is lame and you can never predict how introductions can evolve on your day and more often than not things change and brides and grooms do not have public speaking voices or are shy or simply do not want to do it - we feel a proper master of ceremonies is the person to facilitate this important structure within his duty at your reception;
Whatever YOU want we will give you at no extra charges or conditions but most importantly these days you will find that setting a entertainment budget at the $800 and above figure will surely secure a top quality DJ service for your reception and anything below that is bound to have elements or something missing - after all why would one be cheaper?
Good service and good talent and planning are not expensive but lack of planning and low quality will cost you more money in the long run as booking low cost services will reflect in the value of your entire reception budget which could run into many thousands - its a gamble - do I book a DJ for a few hundred dollars or even try the ipod idea myself say a couple?..do I risk wasting all the money we have invested in our reception - say $15,000 or do we book a proper professional quality DJ?
The answer is simple but what is the line you go to - how do you make a judgement?
Meet with 2-4 Disc Jockeys personally and compare what they offer, and check references not of banquet managers but ask for references from past bride and grooms they have done weddings for as a couple who have now had their reception many months ago will tell you exactly what the entertainment was like and exactly the value of it:
Just some thoughts from us......good luck !
